'pencildust' is my personal art site featuring art I've drawn of original, non-copywritten characters, such as ones I've created and those of my friends and peers. The closest thing to "fanart" is original characters that I've created for anime series/etc, but the characters themselves are not copywritten to the original creators.
So everything here (except for things I've drawn for friends) features characters that are, by default, property of myself. Everything here (except on the giftart page) has been drawn by myself, so please do not take and redistribute my drawings anywhere on the 'net without crediting me. If you want to use a drawing, please refer to the FAQ below.

The navigation is in the top left corner of the page under the logo graphic. The x will take you back to the main page. About brings you here. Illustration loads the thumbnails in the left frame. Gifts houses most of the gift art I have recieved either from friends, through trades, or by paid commission. Dusted-dreams.net will link you back to my domain main page.

And for the record, I realize the site layout isn't super pretty or artistic, but that's not what I was going for here. In my years browsing art sites, I've found the simple two-framed layout found on a lot of the Japanese fanart sites to be most rewarding for me as a visitor. It's easy to load and view the art and it's just as easy to update by hand when I have to.

~ PERSONAL ~

My name is Maureen but I go by 'suzanami' around the internet. I'm 25 with a bachelor's in Spanish Translation and Marketing that I have no idea what to do with. I have no intentions of ever making art a career, so don't ask; that question's getting old since I've been hearing it since high school. XD
I'm glad you chose to visit my site! I really value personal comments and thoughts from people who look at my work, so don't hesitate to send me an email.

•     You can still see much of my art on my deviantART archive. If you prefer FurAffinity, I also have an account there, though I only post my best/favorite anthro drawings.
•     If you want more stuff in between my sparse updates, bookmark or +friend (not join) my art blog over on LiveJournal where I frequently update. When I'm drawing often, it's updated many times a week. There's a lot of doodles that I never post to this site nor to dA that you'll miss out on if you don't check the blog.
•     You can also check out my original character ramblings blog for profiles, references and random thoughts on all the characters featured on this site!
•     If you're looking for my fanart of anime series and much more, head on over to Sugared Cardboard, my fanart site. It has the same kind of layout and whatnot to make browsing really easy!

~ FAQ ~

Will you draw me something?!
For free? Sorry, but no. The only free requests I take are from friends, and even then I'm not obligated. If you want a commission, my prices are pretty low on the rare occasion that I'm taking them. If there are commissions open, there'll be a notice on my deviantART page.

Can I use your art on my site/graphics/etc?
You may not use ANY of my art on public/shared graphics, like to post in your icon journal for others to use. It's too easy for all those people to not credit me for my art. If you want to make an icon or graphic for your own personal use, that's fine, as long as it isn't shared and there is a link back to dusted-dreams.net somewhere easy to find. When in doubt, just email me and ask! The worst I can say is, "No, please."

Can I repost your drawings on my Tumblr?
I used to be funny about my art being reposted, but the beauty of sharing on Tumblr has changed my mind. As long as the watermark with my site addy isn't removed and you put my website or dA in the credit link, I'd be flattered, and love the free publicity! (You can also follow me on Tumblr here if you want~)

Can I draw fanart of your characters?
Yes, please! :D I am a sucker for fanart; it makes my little heart soar. Just make sure to send it to me so I can enjoy it and put it on my gift art page to show off. :3~

Where do you get inspiration for your characters?
As far as my anthro characters, sometimes I want to make up a character of a specific species (like Valentine or Amaya) or sometimes there's a name I really want to use and I make up a character inspired by that (like Mariposa and KC). Estrella was created to be pals with Pyathia, my friend's character, and Rascal was created because Mariposa needed a boyfriend. XD Really, inspiration comes from the most random things. Then I let their personalities develop themselves as I continue drawing them.

Do you RP your characters? Where do you RP?
Wtf, why do people assume that if I have OCs, they're either part of a story or used in a roleplaying group? I just draw them for fun. Yeah, they have personalities, and they kinda run around in my head a little bit, but I don't "use" them for anything other than drawing.

Why do you post so many crappy doodles?
Because I like them. Some of my favorite things that I've drawn have been on notebook paper or in the margin of a bulletin. To me, quality isn't the medium but the actual drawing itself. And I don't have the time/attention span to clean everything up digitally. So deal with the lines. :P

Are you a furry?
I love a lot of the (clean) art, but that's about as into the fandom as I get, tbh. Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons are probably what got me into it in the first place, and when I got on the internet, I saw a lot of the anime artists I liked drawing anthro characters, too, so I made up some of my own. I like how you have a bit more creative freedom (with things like markings and species) and the challenge of taking a quadropedal animal and anthropomorphizing them. I'm not in the furry fandom at all, to be honest; I consider myself an "anime artist" who happens to draw animal people. :B
